In the frame of a multi scale numerical simulation the following developed constitutive models are presented:

  • Shear generation model to describe Luders band propagation in steels
  • Periodical shear generation model to describe the jerky-flow phenomenon in aluminum and copper alloys (Portevin-Le Chatellier effects)
  • Thermo-mechanical relaxation model to describe a mechanical response of materials under different strain rates and temperatures
  • Fracture model to describe cracking of brittle materials

Mechanical behavior of the following composite structures was investigated:

  • Steel surface-hardened by diffusion boronizing - "Steel base-FeB coating" composite.
  • Particle reinforced MMCs - Al6061-Al2O3 composite.
  • Coal structure - mesovolume consisting of different coal litho-types and containing pores.

Part 1: 3D-Analysis of Deformation and Fracture Processes in Heterogeneus Materials under Loading
