Nadler builds upon the region of substances
How advancement takes effect and why it has to be continued
Bayreuth. The economic trend of the region makes up a focal point in the election campaign of the CSU member of the state parliament of Bayreuth Walter Nadler.
On Wednesday, as the Bavarian prime minister Dr. Günther Beckstein initially visited the centre of excellence New Materials, then a campaign rally in the Rothmain hall, Nadler emphasized the position of Upper Franconia as region of substances. With the centre of excellence and the Friedrich Bauer Institute, which develops new materials for the medical scope of application and therefore needs latest equipment, Bayreuth would be positioned well. “We can see outsourcings from the research establishments and we see that jobs are generated” – more than 130 just at the centre of excellence, further ones will come along. Nadler: “The support of the Bavarian government was and is important.”
As of now, it would have to be continued. The member of the state parliament emphasized the necessity of further development of the polymer analysis at the university of Bayreuth, like it is designated as well by the development concept of the chambers of commerce and the city. Upper Franconia shall become a region of substances of distinction – an approach, which Nadler clearly endorses, like it became apparent in his campaign speech in the Rothmain hall in the evening as well.
Bayreuth would have received 3.75 million euros from the programme Bavaria fit of the state government. Further twelve million euros circa would be necessary. And: In connection with the extension of the Fraunhofer task group to become an institute, North-East Bavaria would need an allowance: “An extra pot, which projects and investments can be co-financed from.” So, EU subsidies could also be within one's grasp.
Tailwind from München
The member of the state parliament underlined explicitly that the free state would already support the region Bayreuth intensely. 12.5 million euros in the lapsed legislative period for the castles, nine million for the new operations centre of the police, 40 million and assurance for further eleven million for the hospitals, 16 million for the academic high school of Pegnitz, subsidies for the parish church, whose restoration shall swallow another ten million euros – the list could be continued. “These figures belie those, who always distribute, Upper Franconia would be disadvantaged relative to the conurbation”, said Nadler. Correct were rather: “The subsidies pay off.” This would be readable at the rate of unemployment as well, which had not been that low for ages with 5.3 percent.
What also matters, is the personal touch. That a Bavarian prime minister would come around at the wood festival of Saas – just like it occurred only a few days ago – and that this has not been the only visit of Bayreuth by no means, were really extraordinary. Nadler: “This is how we visualise a Franconian prime mister.” fs
