Exhibition: Materialica 2008

High-tech location Bayreuth appeared at the exhibition "Materialica" in München

From October 14th to 16th, the EPP forum and Kompetenzzentrum Neue Materialien Nordbayern GmbH (centre of excellence New Materials North Bavaria) were present at this year’s Materialica as representatives of the high-tech location Bayreuth.

This international trade fair for applications of substances, surfaces and product engineering, which already took place for the 11th time, is one of the most important meeting points for trade visitors, especially investment decision makers as well as engineers of development and production, draughtsmen, designers, just as single point of contact for product developers from home and abroad.

The EPP forum, represented by MD Mr. Christian Traßl and Kompetenzzentrum Neue Materialien Nordbayern GmbH, represented by MD Mr. Stefan Kollböck respectively introduced their innovative services for businesses there.

Innovative technological developments are the contributing factors for national and international growth as well as global competitive capacity according to Kollböck. We need the intersectoral and cross-process dialogue. Only this way, we can develop new ideas and innovations ready for the market, Traßl added. Therefore, the EPP forum presented itself with a lecture about innovative applications of design also within a parallel proceeding professional convention in front of over one hundred experts from industry and science.

In line with the exhibition, we can show the effectiveness of our communities of location in Bayreuth, Fürth and Würzburg at best and win businesses for cooperation, said Kollböck further on.

The quality of conversational contacts is on a very high level and thus enables customer-oriented information and counselling. Already after the first day, the great success of the exhibition loomed, Traßl supplemented.

Thematic priority of the association “EPP forum” are particle foams made of expanded polypropylene (EPP). These are medium-hard up to soft-elastic, thermoplastic and mainly closed-cell foams of plastics. The fields of application are in the domains of automotive, packaging or recreation. Kompetenzzentrum Neue Materialien Nordbayern GmbH deals basically with the topics lightweight construction material and multifunctional substances.
