Lightweight construction material

We develop innovative substances and processes for the manufacturing of lightweight components made of metal, plastics and composites, e.g. for traffic engineering and engine construction.

Multifunctional materials

We develop substances and methods of machining with a versatile attribute profile. This facilitates the integration of diverse functionalities in component parts. Examples are polymers and ceramics functionalised with (nano) fillers or compounds of polymer piezoceramics for sensor actuator systems.
