Throughout the world, Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) are a mega trend of materials engineering with fascinating perspectives. CNT can be conducive to improve the mechanical, electronic and thermal attributes of the substance radically. CNT have potential to manufacture completely new substances and products, which have not been realisable with previous technology. Being a closely linked research association with about 80 well-known partners from science, medium-sized businesses and large scale industry, the alliance of innovation CNT wants to provide a basis for a lead market for this substance in Germany. The initiative serves as a link between seminal technology and applications in step with actual practice. In 18 projects, innovative applications are developed in the areas of energy & environment, mobility as well as lightweight construction.
The lecture presents current developments in the field of Carbon Nanotubes. The presentation will emphasize the prospective outlooks of application for CNT. In this context, the alliance of innovation CNT (Inno.CNT) is introduced as new type of cooperation among industry, science and politics to expedite the developments consequently.
After the lecture, the referee will be available for questions and further information.
