Kompetenzzentrum Neue Materialien Nordbayern and Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI) in Bayreuth cordially invite you to the lecture of the month.
Based on selected practical examples, the lecture presents the technique and applications of the established coating method thermal spraying. Currently, the emphasis of the applications is on the domain of corrosion and wear protection. Starting from a short excursion concerning the process fundamentals of thermal spraying as well as the applicable coating materials, examples from diverse branches like e.g. automobile industry, plant engineering and construction, toolmaking, etc. as well as new fields of application are presented. Several special applications will be amplified in this speech.
The lecture closes with a brief presentation of the newly established Bavarian research association FORLAYER, which is concerned with the topic of wear protection of highly stressed instruments with the aid of optimised substances and coatings.
After the lecture, the referees will be available for questions and further information.
